Who are we?
Chi Associates, Inc. was
founded in 1974, incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia in
1976. The company participated in the SBA 8(a) Program and obtained
contracts from the Department of Defense, Department of
Transportation, Department of Commerce and Environmental Protection
Agency. The staffs performed more than 300 projects of various kinds
such as “Research in Bridge Structural Response to Wind-Induced
Vibrations”, “Revision of simulation Model of Automobile
Collisions”, and “Support of the Coast Guard Operational Evaluation
of an Air Cushion Vehicle Icebreaking Bow”. Two staff members
obtained patents from their inventions, one was entitled “Computer
Control of the Electron Microscope Sample Stage”, #5179280, and the
other was entitled “Shellfish Depuration System” #5249548. These
were assigned to the company.
The company graduated from the SBA 8(a) Program in 1986 and
diversified its business endeavors. In 1989 several staffs worked
with other research scientists and received several Phase I and
Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants from the
National Institutes of Health. In 1993 the company began work with
Virginia Department of Transportation as a minority sub-contractor
provided services in area of Civil Engineering.

What we do
|

The company’s civil engineers are currently
providing services in Hydrology/Hydraulics analyses, stormwater
management, flood plain management, bridge scour, river mechanics
and highway and bridge design. The inspectors conduct field testing
and inspection and shop drawing review. The company teamed with more
than twenty engineering consulting firms and provided services to
the state and local governments as well as private concerns.

its inception, the company received numerous letters of
commendations from the satisfied customers. We aim to maintain these
impeccable records.
For each project we will make it our responsibility to fully
understand our customers’ needs. We will then establish the most
efficient and most cost effective methods to satisfy these needs. We
will conduct in-depth analyses of the projects to become familiar
with the objectives. We will then apply the state-of-the-art quality
assurance to the projects. All projects are closely watched by the
project managers, detailed accounts are kept, to ensure project
completion according to schedule and within the budget limit.
